Company Description


Cape Lambert is a port facility operated by Rio Tinto Iron Ore in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It is located 40 kilometres north of Karratha. Cape Lambert is one of the sea ports for exporting iron ore from Rio Tintos mining operations in the Pilbara. (The other port is Dampier.) Ore is carried to the two ports on the Hamersley & Robe River railway.

The Koolanooka project is located approximately 350km north-east of Newman and is expected to produce up to 20 million tonnes of iron ore per annum. In addition to its iron ore projects, Cape Lambert Resources also has a number of other projects which include the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and the Wiluna Gold Mine. The Sunrise Dam Gold Mine is located in the Goldfields region of Western Australia and is expected to produce up to 2.3 million ounces of gold per annum. The Wiluna Gold Mine is located in the Murchison region of Western Australia and is expected to produce up to 1.2 million ounces of gold per annum.
